2014 New England Champs DONE
Hey Folks- We pulled it off- 2014 NE champs done and dusted.
A small but elite fleet sailed on some AWESOME ice in decent breeze and got six races in.
Results will be up soon but now it’s time to eat a big dinner and not even try to stay awake until midnight.
Great way to wrap up the year- Here’s to the upcoming season!!
Recap
2014 New England DN Championships
Sailed on Pushaw Lake near Bangor, ME
Medium breeze, a bit gusty, PERFECT ice.
Maine scoring system was used.
Thieler used full length, 3/16″ 90 degree runners and a North ABSS sail with custom batten adjusters. This sail has a little fullness to get off the line and through the lulls but still flattens out into a low-drag shape when the mast bends in the puffs. Boat is CSI from top to bottom, including a CSI 4.1 mast built in 2008.
Greg Cornelius was a strong second, also with a complete CSI program.
Doug Raymond sailed consistently to take a third with Dave Fortier taking the tie-breaker over Steve Madden for fourth. Veteran sailor and DN rookie Ed Adams found his way into fifth and is getting his new boat sorted out quickly. Chris Mayer took the top “classic” spot with Andrew Pimental stuck in the pits fixing something most of the day.
