North Sails Ice Sailing Collection – Are you or friends in the video? #icesailingcollection

We have all seen iceboats used to sell everything from liquor, cigarettes, and cars, clothing, etc. My own DN5023 and her sister last know to be in NJ were used by Oldsmobile as props at a series of international car shows. The latest, a natural from the sailmaker that has collected a lot of DN silver, to use the iceboating tie is North Sails for their Ice Sailing Collection of clothing. Check out what they have to offer, besides sails. There are also shout outs to Chad and Oliver https://webstore.northsails.com/us/en/fw20-ice-sailing.html #icesailingcollection

See how many NEIYA members or DN friends and competitors you can find in the video and post your comments below.

Once you find yourself or friends please renew your membership for the season and reserve your lunch at the Thompson Speedway Golf Course for our annual event on the 24th. We need to firm up the headcount per covid rules. Do it now, so you don’t forget.

P.S. Our Vice Jay is doing a dive clean up at the Quaboag launch tomorrow. He could use a couple volunteers to help put trash in bags. Info here:

(Limited) Volunteer Ramp Clean-up at Quaboag Pond – Sat 10/10

NEIYA is having a low profile boat ramp clean up this Saturday (10/10) at Quaboag pond. Two commercial divers will be under the surface between the hours of 11am – 1pm grabbing garbage off the bottom in the area of, and surrounding the boat ramp. If there are a few members close by who would like to assist that would be helpful. Shore side tasks involve draining trash, sorting and loading etc, as well as walking the waters edge and parking lot area to pick up any other debris. The ramp and parking lot will remain open and we will be working in the periphery of all local traffic. If you come to help please bring a workers reflective vest, gloves, proper Covid face covering, and if you plan to be within 10’ of the water you must wear a life jacket. NEIYA or ice boat clothing and identifiers are of course the fashion of the day. Trash bags and one pickup truck will be supplied. We will be observing proper social distancing. 3-5 helpers is all we need so if you can commit please contact me and we will limit at 5.

If you have a favorite popular sailing site that may need a little NEIYA support and you would like to give back to that community for all the good times had, contact me to get it on a future ramp clean up date!

Mea Culpa The Barbarians Broke Through

All conference call attendees and those that could not get on after I killed the meeting. My apologies I thought I had enough security set up but obviously not. Will have to implement additional safeguards going forward. Having new people in the crowd I did not know made things harder.

Checking schedules now and hope to redo this tomorrow night.

1st Conference Call Tomorrow Night

All,

A little more then 24 hours from now we will have our gathering venue announcement and help guide new, newer, or returning iceboaters back onto the ice this coming season.

With all that has been going on in our own lives and the world as a whole, it will be nice to bring some glimmer of normalcy into our lives. I can’t think of a better way than to sheet in and go fast. Before we can go iceboating there are a few things that have to happen. Of course, the weather has to turn but I am thinking of our annual gathering and the preparation that goes into getting ready.

In preparation for the upcoming season and to be sure that we are only showing the most current classified inventory, all classified ads have been pulled. If you had a previously published ad and it is still for sale just email or leave a comment and we will put it back up. Please be wary of scammers. If you are suspicious it probably is a scam.

As mentioned tomorrow’s call will focus on Newbies and how to get everyone on the ice this season. There will be plenty of people on hand to help tonight and as the season begins.

Talk to you all tomorrow night. Check the conference all info above.

Think Ice,

John Stanton
NEIYA, Commodore

P.S. Now is a good time to renew your NEIYA membership or join. Info to on the right.
